Derek Grima CPA

Managing Director

Derek Grima is the founder and managing director of BeFinancial Accounting & Business Solutions. With over 15 years of accounting experience, Derek has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with distinction, Diploma of Financial Services, CPA, CPA Public Practice Certificate and is a registered Australian Tax Agent. He also serves as a volunteered on the CPA Ballarat branch council, which he has done for a consecutive 6-year period.

Derek’s passion is working with small businesses to help them grow and succeed as well as assisting individual clients in meeting their tax compliance and wealth creation needs.

Outside of work, Derek enjoys nothing more than spending time with his baby girl and fiancée. He has a passion for health & fitness, music, and personal growth.

Jason Kuehn

Director

Jason Kuehn is a successful entrepreneur, property investor and accountant with over 20 years of business experience with roles ranging from management to running his own multi-site businesses.

Jason truly understands the challenges faced by small business, from cash flow, staff issues to building business systems. His business experience combined with his accounting knowledge makes him a valuable asset to have on your financial team.

Out of the office, Jason loves spending time with his wife and three children, who all love the active outdoor lifestyle. You will often see Jason at the gym or in his garage working on his cars as he is a Holden mad car enthusiast.

Aimee Lyons

Accounting Support

Aimee is our valued team member overseeing the administrative functions in the office as Accounting Support. She has previously worked in the industry fulfilling a similar roll. As a result, Aimee has slotted in very smoothly to our team with personal values deeply in alignment with the business.

In addition to her prior history in the accounting industry, Aimee has a broad experience working interstate and overseas with disadvantage children. Her desire to help others reflects directly into her everyday life and work.

In her spare time, Aimee loves to battle it out in the kitchen with her spouse who is a professional chef. She also loves spending time with friends and family and would be traveling the world right now if it were an option!

Ben Smith

Financial Planner at Focus Planning

Befinancial works closely with Ben Smith who operates under his own banner - Focus Planning. With over 20 years of experience in financial planning services, Ben specialises in Superannuation, Retirement Planning, Investment Advice, Income Protection and Life and Trauma Insurance. In his spare time, Ben loves to travel and spend time with his wife and children.
